Overseas language training 2018

Date: July 31, 2018 (Tuesday) - August 9, 2018 (Thursday) for 10days
Destination: Gold cost, Queensland, Australia
Participant: 30 students (2nd grade)

Classes in language school

　Participants studied in AICOL(Australian International College of Language) every morning. Students were divided into three classes (10 students for each). Australian teacher taught all in English. Students demonstrated Presentation and debate

Local school visit

Robina State High School (Aug.2)

Students participated English class and Japanese class. They enjoyed exchange ideas and cultural exchange.

Pacific Pines Primary School (Aug.3)

Student participated class and introduced Japanese culture in English. Local students experienced Origami and Kendama. They also sang Japanese song together.

Bond University (Aug. 6)

Student enjoyed campus tour and conversation in small groups. There were many international students in Australian university. They had concreate image of studying abroad.

Activity

　They visited Dream World (Aug. 4) and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (Aug.7). They learned Australian nature and enjoyed interaction with other students.

Home Stay

　Student experienced home stay in local family. One or two students stayed in a family for 7 nights 8days. They had to use English in their daily life with host family. Student became a member of family and Australia became their second home.

Comments from participants

・I wanted to stay longer because we had such a fruitful language training in Australia. All this experience and time was a treasure to me.
・My host family was very kind. When I could not understand their English they tried to rephrase it. They also tried to understand my English.
・We visited local school. We found similar and different parts, I recognized cultural differences between Japanese Australia.
・As we visited university, it was such a good opportunity for us to think about the future. It stimulated us to know that there are many Japanese students study there.
